Here are some quotes about various levels that I have worked on

Call of Duty

  • As you progress through the game youíll experience driving a tank in a platoon, taking out snipers in buildings, holding off the opposing force as you secure the building, and take part in a crazy car ride that just blows away the one in MOH:AA.

            - OhioGaming

  • During one mission in particular, you find yourself driving a tank through a ruined eastern European city, shooting at guys on top floors trying to blow up your tank with bazookas. Throughout the city, detail on every building is phenomenal. The materials they were built from looked like its real life counterparts, and to add to this, you can see wooden supports jutting out from blasted bits of building.

  • Donít expect a heavy-duty tank sim, but it is a lot of fun.

            - GamesFirst

  • Even the now almost routine on-the-rails and tank drive segments have been included. There isn't anything new to the gameplay at all; it is still very much 'maneuvre to put bullets into your enemy and try and avoid return fire'. However, it is all implemented smoothly and without fuss, something many other modern titles fail to do.

            - Thunderbolt

  • With a never-ending run of tense, beautifully scripted situations, every single one of the different missions found in Call of Duty offers another totally convincing scenario. Moving smoothly between defensive manoeuvres and run-and-gun action, the missions feature everything from a slow crawl through a desolate war-torn city to a daring midnight raid on a POW camp, as well as several high-octane car chases that make for some of the most exiting on-rails experiences ever. Sometimes the intensity is taken to almost ridiculous levels, such as when you invade a German airport on the back of a truck while pursued by a multitude of soldiers, only to be forced to hold back a series of aircraft as they bomb you from above.

  • In another mission, we were on a high-speed chase and I was in the back of an open truck. A guy kept handing me Panzerfausts, and I blew away every tank that popped out on the road. These two missions offered some of Call of Duty's prime gameplay.

  • My objectives were to simply get to the town, but playing with a team of soldiers and a horde of tanks really made this mission and this game stand out.

  • The highlight of the Allied portion of the game comes in the form of a running gun fight in an old French built Citroen two-door car that seems barely able to run, let alone carry three men. As your commanding officer drives insanely across the French countryside in a desperate attempt to deliver an important message to your reinforcements in the next town, you and another solider are charged with the task fending off the Nazi forces chasing after you. Foot soldiers, trucks, armored vehicles, and even tanks will chase after you relentlessly as you exchange fire with out the side, back, and front windows. Again, this has to be one of the most intense and exhilarating combat scenarios I've ever faced in a WWII FPS. Not only that, but it was fun as well.

  • Once you retake the town you must then defend it the following morning then move on to more exciting missions that include two of the best car chase sequences in gaming history. Sure, these missions are on ďrailsĒ but no matter how many times I find myself getting chased through town and cutoff by tanks or stuck in a dead end alley, or firing rockets from the back of a truck on a winding mountain road, the ride is totally immersive.

  • Dissipating any potential monotony, Infinity Ward has thrown in a couple of levels where you take command of a Russian tank. More of a novelty feature than anything else, you control both the turret and movement of the hulking beast as you advance on Berlin. Yes, it has been done before in Allied Assault, but Call of Duty crank up the tempo by including friendly tanks to help you battle the Axis Panzers. Despite my concerns, these sections are beautifully implemented; rolling forwards with your comrades, crushing everything in your path, gives a certain sense of power. Many buildings can be crumbled by a shot from the main turret, and the secondary machine guns mow down any infantry automatically. For once, the Germans are on the run!

  • Sometimes Call of Duty is just like a movie; and more like Indiana Jones than Saving Private Ryan. There are a few vehicle chases in the game in which you will have to fend off pursuing enemies, who chase you in trucks, tanks, cars and motorcycles. The actions here is top notch, and combined with the gameís soundtrack, which is present throughout, the game really feels a bit special.

  • If you remember the driving mission in MOH:AA as you drive along slowly taking out the enemy, the mission pales in comparison to how itís done in Call of Duty. Youíll be riding with two other soldiers and the ride is fast and furious. Youíll be spinning around corners, driving through barricades, and even be chased by bikes. The speed at which you are driven around trying to shake the Nazis from your tail will get your blood pumping. Itís an intense level and offers some great moments.

  • Call of Duty also offers a few more densely scripted missions, such as an American level where you're riding in a car, shooting Germans out the window and hanging on for dear life, or a similar truck ride in the British campaign where you're firing Panzerfausts at roadblocks and other enemies. These missions play out like something straight out of Raiders of the Lost Ark -- they offer lots of split-second narrow escapes, and are dropped in just often enough to provide a welcome change of pace. Of course, you get to drive a tank during the Russian campaign, yet another memorable level in a game chock full of them them.

  • The American and British missions have some incredible moments as well. Many first-person shooters now feature "turret" missions, in which you're working the guns but not actually driving the vehicle from which you're shooting. Call of Duty has a couple of excellent such levels from the American and British perspectives, which are some of the finest such interactive chase/shooting sequences to date.

    Medal of Honor

  • Particularly interesting is a mission in which you're disguised as a German officer in order to get where you need to go. At certain points in the mission, you must show your ID papers to the guards if they should ask. Make any funny moves (like drawing a gun or approaching an officer) and you'll find yourself fighting for your life; these Nazis don't believe in taking prisoners.

  • The scuttling of the Nazi subs was one of my favorite missions of all times in a FPS game

    Quake 3 Arena (hobby Levels)

  • Mr Silvers has once again proved that his mapping skills are indeed superior, and this release is as good as r33t ownAge.

  • A must have, especially if you play 1-on-1. If that is the case, this map totally rules. Are you still reading? OK, here's the final word: download!

             - QIC level reviews

  • This map is the result of Mr. Silvers wanting to learn Q3Radiant and I think it's safe to say that we will all apprechiate his desire to do so, 'cause the result is a very fine piece of map.

             - QIC level reviews

  • This map should be a textbook example of mapmaking; the look, flow and shear gameplay fun that it offers makes it hard for me to give anything else than a top rank of five. Please give me more!

  • A number of custom map objects in the form of trees, vines and mushrooms add the final touch to a small map with great connectivity and gameplay. The item placement and weapon choice are also fantastic. Some may not like the inclusion of a plasma and the absence of a RailGun but this combination really suits the level. Bot play is fine. A must have level.

  • I've downloaded this map when it was released, and I played it a lot. It will stay on my HD for sure. 3 years and i'm not bored with this map. Awesome !!! Reminds me of Tomb Raider's Vilcabamba (the 1st level). I like wandering in this level to look at the architecture, climb the trees and... eat the mushrooms :o). THe gameplay is fast and bots are good.

  • This map has one of the nicer aesthetics I've seen in quite a while. I haven't had a chance to play it and have just taken a quick run through, but the combination of the plants/lighting/trees/etc. is just outstanding.
